Sunday night at the Bernabéu comes with a familiar script and one awkward rewrite.

Real Madrid have won all four of their home league games this season, but they must now do it without Vinícius Júnior, who is suspended after a red card.

That is not the only gap in the squad either, with a broken leg for Raúl Asencio and an injury to Éder Militão adding to the list.

Sevilla arrive in fifth, unbeaten in their last four away games and fresh from a 3-3 draw at Levante, which tells you they can score.

However, they have not beaten Madrid in ten attempts, so the visitors need more than goals to change the habit.

Real Madrid have won six of their eight league games and sit fourth on 18 points, having scored 19 and conceded eight.

The home record is the headline: 13 goals scored at 3.3 per game and two conceded at the Bernabéu, with two clean sheets in four.

The road has been a different story. Madrid have lost two of their four away games, at Real Betis and Atlético Madrid, and have conceded six goals on their travels, which is 1.5 per game.

They did win 1-0 at home to Villarreal last time out, a result that was a little more modest than the previous home scorelines of 4-1 against Rayo Vallecano and 4-0 against Málaga.

Their recent xG figures (2.49 for, 1.02 against per game) suggest the attack is creating plenty, even without the headline names.

Sevilla sit fifth on 14 points from eight games, with four wins, two draws and two defeats.

Their away form is the best part of their season. They are unbeaten in four on the road (two wins, two draws) and have scored eight goals in those games, an average of 2.0 per trip.

Home has been the problem. Two defeats in four at the Sánchez-Pizjuán and seven goals conceded there is not the profile of a side that usually travels to Madrid and frightens anyone.

Still, a European place is within reach, and Sevilla have scored in every one of their eight league games this season. The defence, with 12 conceded and only two clean sheets, is where the trouble sits.

Stats for Real Madrid v Sevilla

  • Head-to-head: Real Madrid have won nine of the last ten meetings with Sevilla, with one draw and no Sevilla wins.
  • Real Madrid have won all four home league games in 2026/27, scoring 13 and conceding two.
  • Sevilla are unbeaten in four away league games this season, with two wins and two draws and eight goals scored.
  • The last meeting was a 1-0 Madrid win at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on 17 May 2026.
  • Real Madrid average 17.88 shots per game in recent form, against 11.88 for Sevilla.

Form guide ahead of Real Madrid v Sevilla

Real Madrid have won six and lost two of their last eight, with no draws, and their most recent result was the 1-0 win over Villarreal on 10 October.

Sevilla's last eight read four wins, two draws and two defeats, the latest being the 3-3 draw at Levante on 12 October.

Madrid are in better shape on paper, but the shape is a little lopsided: both of their defeats came away from home, and both were by a single goal.

Sevilla, meanwhile, have lost to Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, the two sides above them who matter most, so the surface form says a little less about how they cope with a big side at a big ground.

Real Madrid v Sevilla in the La Liga table

Real Madrid are fourth on 18 points from eight games, four points clear of fifth-placed Sevilla (14 points from eight) and one behind third-placed Real Betis, who have 19 from nine. That means Madrid have a game in hand on Betis, and a win would put them level with them on points, with the extra match still to play.

Barcelona are the runaway leaders with 27 points from nine, and Atlético Madrid are second on 22, so the top two are already some way clear.

For Sevilla, a win would move them to within a point of Madrid, with the same number of games played, and into the thick of the Champions League places. A defeat would leave them seven points adrift of Betis and with plenty of company behind them. Real Sociedad are sixth on 13 points from eight.

Head-to-head record: Real Madrid v Sevilla

The record is lopsided. Across the last ten meetings, Real Madrid have won nine and drawn one, and Sevilla have not won once. The games average 2.9 goals, with both teams scoring in 60% of them and more than 2.5 goals in half of them. The last meeting was a 1-0 win for Madrid at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on 17 May 2026, and before that, Madrid won 2-0 at the Bernabéu on 20 December 2025.

The pattern is that Madrid win, and often without needing the goals to flow. Four of the last five meetings were settled by a margin of two or fewer goals, with a 4-2 win in December 2024 the exception. Both teams scored in three of those five, which hints at a BTTS lean, but the over 2.5 line is much more of a coin flip, at 50%. With Sevilla scoring in every game so far this season, the goals market looks more interesting than the correct score.

Where this fixture is won and lost

The biggest gap is in the shot count. Madrid are averaging 17.88 shots per game and 7.13 on target, while Sevilla manage 11.88 and 4.25. That is a lot of pressure, and it should keep Sevilla pinned in for long spells.

The second is the corners. Madrid average 7.13 for and 4.00 against, while Sevilla are at 3.13 for and 3.75 against, so Sevilla get very little from set-piece territory.

Possession tells the same story, 51.6% for Madrid against 42.3% for Sevilla, which is closer than you might guess. Sevilla do not need the ball to score, though, and have found the net in all eight of their league games. If Madrid's defence has an off night away from home, as it has twice, Sevilla will fancy a goal. The trouble is that this is a home game.

Where to watch Real Madrid v Sevilla: TV and online streams

Kick-off at the Bernabéu is at 20:00 BST on Sunday 18 October. A UK broadcaster has not been confirmed yet for this fixture, and this page will be updated closer to kick-off once one is.

Real Madrid v Sevilla betting tips

The value sits in the gap between how much Madrid should win by and how easily the visitors can score. Madrid are short for the win, so the sharper angles lie in the goals markets, where Sevilla's habit of scoring in every game this season and Madrid's thin defence away from home make for an interesting mix. At the Bernabéu, though, the home side's 13 goals in four make the win the safest of the lot.

Our headline tip✓ Hit

Match Result: Real Madrid to win

Madrid have won nine of the last ten against Sevilla and all four home league games this season, and the shot and corner gaps suggest they will hold most of the territory. Missing Vinícius Júnior takes a little of the edge off, but you have to feel the depth is there to cover it. The price is short, but the form points this way.

Our predicted scoreReal Madrid 2–1 Sevilla
✓ Prediction landed
TIP 01 · Correct score✗ Miss

Correct score 2-1

Madrid have scored in every league game bar one this season, and Sevilla have scored in all eight of theirs. A 2-1 fits both patterns, and it is one of the more common scorelines in this fixture's recent history. It is a long shot, as any correct score is, so treat it as a pinch of salt on top of the main pick.

TIP 02 · Over 2.5 goals✓ Hit

Over 2.5 goals

The last ten meetings average 2.9 goals, and Madrid's home games have produced 3.3 goals per game for them alone. Sevilla's 3-3 draw at Levante last time out shows they are not shy of a scrap. The risk is the 1-0 pattern of the last two meetings, but the home scoring rate leans over.

TIP 03 · Both teams to score✓ Hit

Both teams to score

Sevilla have scored in all eight league games this season, and both teams scored in 60% of the last ten meetings. Madrid have kept two clean sheets at home, though, so this is not a guarantee. Sevilla's away form keeps this on the right side of even.

TIP 04 · Anytime goalscorer✓ Hit

Kylian Mbappé to score

Mbappé is the focal point of an attack that has scored 13 at home in four games, and with Vinícius Júnior suspended, he should see even more of the ball. Madrid average 7.13 shots on target per game. The risk is a quieter night against a deep block, but he is the obvious choice.

TIP 05 · Draw no bet✓ Hit

Real Madrid (draw no bet)

Madrid average 7.13 corners to Sevilla's 3.13, so the territory should be heavily one-way. That keeps the Madrid side of the ledger attractive, with the stake back if Sevilla nick a draw. The price is short, but it softens the risk of the missing forwards.

Madrid's home record is the anchor for the builder. It pairs with the goals leg because their wins at the Bernabéu this season have tended to come with plenty of goals.

Madrid have scored 13 in four at home, so the goals line does not need Sevilla's help. It sits comfortably alongside a Madrid win, as the home wins have been high-scoring.

Kylian Mbappé to score

If Madrid win and the goals flow, the likeliest route is through Mbappé. With Vinícius Júnior suspended, he is the player most likely to take the chances that a heavy shot count will create.
