Genoa v Juventus preview
Genoa have scored six goals in eight Serie A games, and that is the story hanging over the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Wednesday night.
The hosts have found a way to win two of their last three, including a 1-0 home victory over Venezia on Sunday, but they have not scored more than twice in any league game this season. Juventus arrive with a different problem. Nine players are on their injury list, leaving the visitors short of options in several areas.
On paper it looks a mismatch in depth and form. Genoa will hope the squad Juventus can put out is thin enough to give them a way in.
Genoa's form and context
Genoa sit 16th on seven points from eight games, three clear of the relegation zone. Fiorentina, Parma and Venezia all have fewer than that. Their record is two wins, one draw and five defeats, with a goal difference of minus seven.
The home side have been poor away from the Ferraris (three games, three defeats, one goal scored) but their home numbers are not much better: two wins, one draw and two defeats from five, with five scored and eight conceded. A 4-1 loss to Como on 4 September is their heaviest defeat. They have since beaten Fiorentina 2-1 and Venezia 1-0 at home, either side of a 2-0 loss at Roma.
Juventus: a patchy start
Juventus are seventh on 14 points from eight games, three behind fifth-placed Como and eight adrift of leaders Inter and Lazio. They have won four, drawn two and lost two in the league.
The last two results sum up their season. A 3-0 home defeat to Lazio on 18 October was followed by a 2-0 win at Lecce on Sunday. Away from home they have been the better side: two wins, one draw and one defeat, with six goals scored and four conceded. They have scored 6 of their 11 league goals between the 76th and 90th minutes, so Genoa cannot relax late on.
Form guide ahead of Genoa v Juventus
Across their last eight league games Genoa have won two, drawn one and lost five, scoring 0.75 goals per game and conceding 1.63. Juventus have won four, drawn two and lost two, averaging 1.38 scored and 1.0 conceded. The gap is clear and it shows up in the underlying numbers too: Juventus have an expected goals difference of plus 0.90 per game, Genoa minus 0.47. The caveat is Juventus' inconsistency against decent opposition. They lost 3-2 at Sassuolo and 3-0 to Lazio, and Genoa did beat Fiorentina 2-1 and Venezia 1-0 at the Ferraris. Even so, the surface form is an accurate guide to who is the better side.
Stats for Genoa v Juventus

- Juventus have kept a clean sheet in each of the last four meetings, most recently winning 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium on 6 April 2026.
- Genoa have scored six goals in eight Serie A games (0.75 per game) and failed to score in three of them.
- Juventus have kept four clean sheets in eight league games and conceded 8 goals (1.0 per game).
- Genoa have lost five of eight league games in 2026/27, including all three away.
Genoa v Juventus in the Serie A table
Genoa are 16th with seven points from eight games, level with Monza (15th) and three ahead of 18th-placed Fiorentina. Their goal difference of minus seven is the worst outside the bottom five. A win would lift them to ten points and open a gap of five to the drop zone. Defeat leaves them one result away from the bottom three.
Juventus are seventh with 14 points from eight, level with sixth-placed Frosinone on points and one clear of Torino in eighth. Como in fifth are three points ahead, so a win in Genoa moves Juventus to within touching distance of the European places. A slip, and they drop into a midfield cluster that includes Torino (13) and Cagliari (13).

JuventusHead-to-head record: Genoa v Juventus
Of the last 10 meetings in Serie A, Juventus have won seven, Genoa one and two have been drawn. Those games have averaged 2.3 goals. Both teams have scored in 40% of them and 40% have gone over 2.5 goals. The last meeting was at the Allianz Stadium on 6 April 2026, where Juventus won 2-0. At the Ferraris on 31 August 2025 it finished Genoa 0-1 Juventus.
The pattern is hard to argue with: low-scoring, and one-sided. Juventus have won each of the last four meetings without conceding, and the visitors' defensive numbers this season (four clean sheets in eight) support more of the same. The H2H points to Juventus to win and both teams not to score, with 1-0 and 2-0 the likely scorelines. Genoa's share of the goals has been two in the last five meetings, and they have not scored in any of the last four.
Where this fixture is won and lost
The biggest gap is in chance creation. Juventus average 1.44 expected goals and 5.38 shots on target per game over their last eight. Genoa manage 0.85 and 3.0. Juventus also average 58.5% possession to Genoa's 44.4%, and 7.5 corners to the hosts' 4.13.
At the other end Genoa's defence is the problem. They concede 1.32 expected goals per game, against 0.54 for Juventus, and have kept one clean sheet in eight. Juventus will have the ball and the better chances, and Genoa will have to survive a late push, given that more than half of the visitors' goals have come after the 75th minute.
Predicted line-ups for Genoa v Juventus
Genoa have lined up in a 3-4-2-1 in five of their eight league games and will probably stick with it. Juventus favour a 4-2-3-1 and their injury list leaves little room for rotation, with Kolo Muani the only fit senior striker.
Juventus: Vicario; Kelly, Bremer, Gatti, Cambiaso; Douglas Luiz, Boga; Kolo Muani

Genoa v Juventus betting tips
The value sits in the goals market rather than the result. Juventus are 7/10 to win, but Genoa have scored in only five of eight league games and none of their home games has produced more than two for either side from the hosts. Under 2.5 goals at 3/4 and both teams not to score at 5/6 fit the pattern. The bet builder leans on Juventus keeping a clean sheet and Kolo Muani doing the damage.
