Marseille arrive at this one on the back of a fortnight that has eased some of the pressure. After four straight league defeats, they won 2-0 at Troyes and then 5-2 at Angers, a run that has dragged them up to 10th.
Le Havre, by contrast, are heading the other way. They sit bottom of Ligue 1 on two points, the only side in the division without a win, and they conceded three at home to Auxerre last weekend. Sunday's trip to the Velodrome is about as awkward as a fixture list gets for a side in that state.
Marseille's season has been a story of two halves in miniature. They opened with a 4-0 home win over Strasbourg, then lost to Monaco, a goal difference of +4.
The home record is the oddity. They are averaging 2.0 goals a game but their expected goals against of 2.1 per game over the same spell suggests they will give chances away.
Le Havre have not found a way to score regularly. Their five goals in seven games average out at 0.71 a match, and they have failed to score three times. All five have come after the 60th minute.
They have at least shown some resilience at times, drawing 1-1 at Lyon and 0-0 at home to Angers. Even so, they have conceded 11, with four of those in the first 15 minutes or just after half-time, and they are now two points behind 16th-placed Le Mans in the relegation places. Any point at the Velodrome would feel like a result.
Form guide ahead of Marseille v Le Havre
Over their last seven league games Marseille have three wins and four defeats, with 14 goals for and 10 against. Le Havre have no wins, two draws and five defeats, with five scored and 11 conceded. The recent trend favours Marseille, who have won their last two, while Le Havre have lost their last two. The surface numbers do flatter the hosts slightly, though. Le Havre average 15.7 shots a game to Marseille's 13.1, and more corners too (5.7 to 4.4). They create chances. What they lack is a finisher who can convert them.

Marseille v Le Havre in the Ligue 1 table
Marseille are 10th on nine points from seven games, with a goal difference of +4. They are five points behind fifth-placed Monaco, so a win would put them within touching distance of the European places in a congested top half. Le Havre are 18th on two points from seven, with a goal difference of -6. They are two points behind 17th-placed Troyes and four behind 16th-placed Le Mans, who occupy the relegation play-off spot.
A win for the hosts would lift them into the top-six conversation. A defeat for Le Havre would leave them four points adrift of Le Mans with a win still to be found, and the gap to safety is already growing.

Le HavreHead-to-head record: Marseille v Le Havre
Marseille have won all seven meetings in the sample, with no draws and no Le Havre victories. Those games have averaged 4.14 goals, with both teams scoring in five of seven (71%) and over 2.5 goals in six of seven (86%). The most recent meeting was a 1-0 Marseille win at Stade Oceane on 10 May 2026. The last visit to the Velodrome, on 18 October 2025, ended 6-2 to the hosts.
The pattern is clear: Marseille win, and the goals tend to come. This season gives a note of caution. Le Havre's attack has dried up and Marseille have scored 14 in seven, so the over 2.5 goals market looks sound, while the BTTS price is a closer call given Le Havre's 0.71 goals a game. The correct score lean is a home win by one or two goals, with 2-1 and 2-0 both priced at 13/2 and 15/2 respectively.
Where this fixture is won and lost
The biggest gap is in front of goal. Marseille average 2.0 goals a game and Le Havre 0.71, a difference of more than a goal. Marseille also have the ball more, with 57.6% possession against 49.6%.
The bigger worry for the hosts is at the back. Their expected goals against is 2.1 per game, well above the 1.43 they have actually conceded, and Le Havre's xG for is 1.38. Le Havre have had chances and not taken them. If one falls early, Marseille's back line could be put under pressure again, which is why a Le Havre goal is far from out of the question.
Predicted line-ups for Marseille v Le Havre
Marseille have used a 4-2-3-1 in four of their seven league games and should stick with it. Le Havre have favoured a 3-4-2-1 in four games and are shorn of several defenders, so expect that back three to be patched up.

Marseille v Le Havre betting tips
The value here is in the goals rather than the result. Marseille at 11/20 is short, but over 2.5 goals at 1/2 is backed by an 86% rate in this fixture, and Marseille's own xG against suggests they will give up chances. Gouiri, with five league goals and nine shots on target from 14, anchors the bet builder.
