They held Brazil to a 1-1 draw on matchday one, then edged Scotland 1-0 thanks to a Ismael Saibari goal after just 71 seconds at Gillette Stadium. Both results have been achieved through defensive discipline and clinical counter-attacking, with Brahim Diaz providing both assists and Saibari scoring in both games. Ouahbi's side average 1.18 xG for per match at this tournament, solid output, even if the margin for error has been fine.

The subplot is the race with Brazil. Both sides sit on four points, with Brazil marginally ahead on goal difference. Ouahbi has been direct about what he wants. "Our main objective is to win and finish top of the group," he told reporters in Atlanta on Tuesday. "Going into any match without the ambition to win would make our presence meaningless. After that, we can look at the other details."

Haiti's tournament has been one of endeavour without reward. Sébastien Migne's side lost 1-0 to Scotland on matchday one and then conceded three to Brazil without reply, becoming the first team mathematically eliminated from the 2026 competition. They have failed to score in both matches, averaging an xG of just 0.65 per game, and their best chance of the entire group stage was Ricardo Ade's header in the 63rd minute against Brazil, straight at Alisson. Wednesday is their final game at a World Cup for the first time since 1974.

Morocco's tournament form reads W (1-0 v Scotland), D (1-1 v Brazil), two clean sheets between them, and they head to Atlanta without a single absence in their squad. Ouahbi was asked about rotation ahead of this game and, while he has kept his options open, his public stance has pointed towards continuity. "Some players are physically in very good condition, and we could start with the same lineup without any problem," he said. Saibari, Diaz, and captain Hakimi have all played every minute.

Haiti's main fitness doubt is Duckens Nazon, who is reported to be carrying physical discomfort ahead of the match. Leverton Pierre has also been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament through injury, though he has been on the bench for both games. Otherwise, Migne has his squad available and is expected to revert to a 4-4-2 with Wilson Isidor and Frantzdy Pierrot providing a more direct threat up front.

Ouahbi spoke to reporters on Tuesday and dismissed any notion that Morocco would take their foot off the gas against an eliminated side. "This is a World Cup match," he said. If we start thinking about anything other than victory, we may regret it."

He also spoke openly about his attacking options. "Brahim can play anywhere. He can also play behind the striker. He has already provided two assists and is very important to our attacking organisation." On the question of whether Morocco lacked a cutting edge, Ouahbi acknowledged the concern but backed his forwards. "Offensively, we are capable of creating many chances, even if at times we need to score more goals. We will grow and become more efficient, you will see."
