Dortmund v Betis: the stakes
Borussia Dortmund host a Real Betis side that has won every game it has played in this season's Champions League, and the home side badly need to match them.
This is matchday four of the league phase. Betis are fifth on nine points with a goal difference of +3. Dortmund are 13th on six points, with a goal difference of +1, inside the play-off places but with no room for a slip. A home defeat would hand the visitors a big advantage in the race for the top eight.

How they got here
Dortmund have won two and lost one. They beat Villarreal 3-2 at home on 8 September, lost 1-0 away to Bodo/Glimt on 14 October, then won 2-1 at Sabah on 20 October. Three of their five goals came between the 76th and 90th minutes, which says plenty about how tight their games have been. They have not kept a clean sheet yet and have conceded four.
Betis have beaten Lille 3-2 away, Porto 3-2 at home and Feyenoord 1-0 at home. They have scored seven, an average of 2.3 a game, and their only clean sheet came against Feyenoord. Four of their seven goals have arrived between the 46th and 60th minutes.
Rotation and selection
There is little room for rotation here. Dortmund sit outside the top eight and need the points at home. Betis have the luxury of a perfect record, but nine points from nine puts them in a strong position and gives them every reason to stay with the XI that has delivered.
They have lined up in a 3-4-2-1 in all three league-phase games, while Betis have used a 4-2-3-1 each time.
Real Betis (4-2-3-1): Vallés; Bellerín, Natan, Llorente, Fran García; Roca, Fornals; Antony, Isco, Ezzalzouli; Parrott
Betis' left-back slot would go to Firpo if he proves fit, but he is a doubt.
Changes for team news: Real Betis: Fidalgo out, Fornals in.

TIP 01
Correct Score: 2-1
Both sides have scored in every one of their league-phase games, and 2-1 is the shape of Dortmund's last two wins. Betis have also won two of their three games by a one-goal margin. A narrow home win is the most likely single outcome. The risk is that a sharper Betis side takes it to a 1-1 draw.

TIP 02
Over 2.5 Goals: Over
Dortmund's last three games have produced two matches with over 2.5 goals, and Betis have done the same in two of three. Both defences have shipped four goals in three games. Two attacking sides and two leaky back lines make over 2.5 the call. A tight 1-0 is the main danger, as Betis managed against Feyenoord.

TIP 03
Both Teams to Score: Yes
Both teams have found the net in two of their last three, and Dortmund have yet to keep a clean sheet. Betis have scored in every game. Backing both to score is the strongest of the goal markets. A Dortmund clean sheet is the one real risk.
Odds checked 04:53 · Odds correct at the time shown and subject to change.
TIP 04
Anytime Goalscorer: S. Guirassy
Guirassy has four Champions League goals from only three appearances, and has taken 14 shots with half of them on target. He also scored a penalty in this campaign. He leads the line against a Betis defence that has conceded in two of its three games. The risk is a late substitution, as he has started two of his three games.

TIP 05
Double Chance: Home or Draw
Dortmund have home form of 3-2 from their one league-phase game in front of their own fans, while Betis have won only one of their matches away. Covering the draw protects against a Betis smash-and-grab. It is the safer route to the same read, but it gives up the value of the home win.

Home Win
Match Result
8/11
Dortmund's need and home advantage anchor the builder. A home win fits with an open, high-scoring game, so it works with the goals leg. It also gives Guirassy a platform for the scorer leg.
Over
Over 2.5 Goals
1/2
Both defences have conceded four goals in three games, so the total should clear three if Dortmund win by a couple. It complements the result leg because a Dortmund win at home is most likely to come in an open game. It does not depend on who scores.
S. Guirassy
Anytime Goalscorer
19/20
Guirassy is Dortmund's most likely source of a goal, which ties directly to the home win leg without being a first-goalscorer pick. Goals from him also help push the total over 2.5. He gives the builder a named player to follow.
