Leeds v Tottenham preview
Tottenham have found their feet at the right moment, and Leeds have lost theirs.
Spurs travel to Yorkshire having won three on the spin, beating Coventry 3-1, then Chelsea 2-0 away, then Crystal Palace 2-0 last Saturday. Leeds went the other way on the same day, beaten 2-0 at Bournemouth after a goalless draw at Sunderland.
The hosts are 12th on 11 points. The visitors are ninth on 12. That is the whole gap between them, and it is why a lunchtime kick-off at Elland Road looks closer than the recent run suggests.
Leeds: plenty of draws, not enough goals
Leeds have won two, drawn five and lost two of their nine league games. Their nine goals in total is a modest return, and they have failed to score in three matches. Their last home league game was a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on 18 October, and before that came a goalless draw with Crystal Palace.
Elland Road has not been the problem. Leeds have six goals and three conceded in four home games, with one win and three draws. Their recent-form numbers explain the stalling, though: an average of 0.74 expected goals per game against 1.16 conceded. Leeds are creating less than they allow, and the draws are looking like a ceiling rather than a floor.
Tottenham: results ahead of the numbers
Spurs have turned a poor start of three defeats in their first five into three straight wins. The underlying figures back them up better than Leeds' do. They average 1.32 expected goals for and 1.17 against, with 16.22 shots a game and 63.1% possession.
The away record is the question. They have won once, drawn twice and lost once on their travels, scoring three and conceding four. Tottenham's four clean sheets in nine games suggest they will not be easy to open up, but they have also failed to score in four.

Form guide ahead of Leeds v Tottenham
Leeds' last nine league games read two wins, five draws and two defeats, with nine goals scored and eight conceded. Tottenham's read three wins, three draws and three defeats, with 10 scored and 10 conceded. On paper that is a dead heat, but the order matters. Spurs have won their last three, and Leeds have taken one point from their last three away and home games against Arsenal, United and Sunderland combined with a defeat at Bournemouth to follow. The caveat is the opposition: Palace sit 18th and Coventry 16th, so Tottenham's run has not been built on the strongest opposition. Leeds' draws, meanwhile, include a 1-1 with Manchester United and a narrow 2-1 defeat at Arsenal.
Leeds
TottenhamLeeds v Tottenham in the Premier League table
Tottenham are ninth on 12 points from nine games, two behind sixth-placed Brentford on 14. Leeds are 12th on 11 points from nine, four clear of 18th-placed Crystal Palace on seven. Hull, Newcastle and Ipswich also have 11, so a single result reshuffles the middle of the table.
A Spurs win would lift them to within a point of Brentford, with Liverpool fifth on 15 beyond that. A Leeds win would take them to 14 points and into the top-half conversation. A defeat leaves Leeds looking nervously at a bunched pack just above the bottom three.
Head-to-head record: Leeds v Tottenham
The nine meetings in the head-to-head record have produced 2 Leeds wins, 1 draw and 6 Tottenham wins, at an average of 3.78 goals per game. Seven of the nine have seen both sides score (78%) and eight have gone over 2.5 goals (89%). The last two are the most relevant. Spurs won 2-1 at Elland Road on 4 October 2025, and the sides drew 1-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 11 May 2026.
Those numbers point towards goals, but the current sides do not. Leeds have gone over that line in two of their nine games this season and Tottenham in three. The older meetings include a 4-0, a 4-3 and a 4-1, all from different eras for both clubs. The recent 1-1 is a better guide, and it points to a tight game with one goal each as the most likely outcome.
Where this fixture is won and lost
The biggest gap is territorial. Tottenham average 63.1% possession to Leeds' 49%, and 16.22 shots a game to 10.78. They also win far more corners, 7.78 a game against Leeds' 3.67. Spurs will have the ball, and Leeds will have to defend set pieces well.
The counter to that is finishing. Spurs average 1.11 goals per game from 1.32 expected, while Leeds' 1.00 from 0.74 shows a side scoring slightly above its chances. That kind of overperformance tends to even out, and it suggests Leeds' attack is thinner than their record. A Tottenham side with the ball but with only 4.33 shots on target a game is a side that can be held.

Leeds v Tottenham betting tips
The value sits in a low-scoring, level game. Leeds have drawn five of nine and Tottenham have scored more than two goals in only three of theirs. The head-to-head history points the other way, but both current sides are built around caution. The bet builder leans on that, pairing the draw with Under 2.5 and one Leeds scorer.
Under 3.5 goals
Under 3.5 goals is rated at 75%, with our goals model alone at 82% and the market at 74%, so everyone broadly agrees. Leeds have averaged only 0.68 xG for over their recent games with xG data, which keeps their side of the scoreline small [xg.home.last5]. Seven of the eight meetings have had three goals or more, and Spurs have scored in each of their last six [h2h.goals]. But it takes four goals to break this bet, and Leeds creating so little makes that a long way from the likeliest outcome. It needs three goals or fewer, whoever scores them.
