Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

The Reds have shelled out a reported £12million to land the Serbia international on a five-year deal after completing his medical on Wednesday.

Milenkovic, 26, started all three of Serbia’s Euro 2024 group games, including a 1-0 defeat to England, as they finished bottom of Group C in Germany.

But the 56-cap international arrives with a burgeoning reputation from Serie A after helping Fiorentina reach the Europa Conference League final in successive seasons.

Forest were keen for a quality addition at the back following the departures of Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala this summer.

Reds chief football officer Ross Wilson said: “He is a key part of our squad planning this summer and I know how enthusiastic he has been to join the club.

“We have long admired his performances with the Serbia national team and in Serie A and European competitions for Fiorentina.

“We are delighted he will bring his experience and qualities to Nottingham Forest.”

In a seven-year stint with La Viola after joining from Partizan Belgrade in 2017, Milenkovic made 265 appearances, scoring a healthy 17 goals and providing five assists.
