Chelsea have handed striker Nicolas Jackson a two-year contract extension, keeping him tied to the club until 2033.

The Senegal forward joined last summer for £32million from Villarreal, scoring 14 Premier League goals in his debut campaign.

He also bagged in the Blues’ most recent outing – a 1-1 draw to Crystal Palace.

It makes it two already for the season for Jackson, who is finding his form under new head coach Enzo Maresca.

The boss, asked about the extension after the Palace match, had nothing but kind words to say about his striker.

He said: “The only thing I know is he’s signing a new contract – I don’t know how many years.

“I’m very happy. Nicolas is doing a fantastic job with us, on and off the ball.

“He scored already two goals [this season]. He scored again today. He had another two chances but we are happy with him.

“I have faith, and the club also, even before. Not because we are looking for another striker; not that we don’t trust Nicolas. We trust Nicolas.

“I said last week when the transfer window was still open – he is doing fantastic with us. I am very happy with him.”

Jackson’s renewal sees him join Cole Palmer in having recently extended his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez also have contracts until 2033, while Enzo Fernandez is stuck in West London until 2032.
