Arsenal defender Ben White is expected to miss out on Lee Carsley’s first England squad as interim boss.
The Under-21s coach will take charge of two matches in September against the Republic or Ireland and Finland.
His new role comes after former Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate resigned after losing consecutive Euro finals, firstly to Italy at Wembley in 2021 and again this summer against Spain.
White has not been part of the squad since leaving camp during the 2022 World Cup after a falling out with Steve Holland – Southgate’s assistant.
The change in management is thought to have opened the door back up for White to return for his country, but the BBC believe he will be snubbed.
The Arsenal full-back made himself unavailable for Euro 2024 and is still not keen to return for England anytime soon.

He has earned four caps during his career so far and has impressed under Mikel Arteta as Arsenal challenge for the Premier League title.
It is unknown whether Carsley will get the permanent gig with England but two wins in the upcoming matches will put him in a good position as the FA mull over their options.
