Chelsea and Atletico ‘agree new £38m fee each for Gallagher and Omorodion’

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have reportedly agreed a new fee of £38million each for the transfers of Conor Gallagher and Samu Omodorion.

Blues academy graduate Gallagher is on the verge of joining Atleti, with midfielder Omodorion heading the other way to Stamford Bridge, according to Sky Sports.

Gallagher is set to sign a five-year deal after being given permission to fly to the Spanish capital for medical.

A deal for Omodorion, a 20-year-old midfielder who spent last season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, has also now been agreed.

He scored eight goals in 35 appearances during that loan spell as they finished 10th in LaLiga.

Chelsea had agreed to offload Gallagher, who made 50 appearances for the Blues last term, after failing to agree a new contract for the 24-year-old.

Both Tottenham and Aston Villa were keen to land the England midfielder but has instead opted to leave the Premier League.

Sky say the Blues accepted a larger offer from Villa earlier this summer for Gallagher but he rejected personal terms because he wanted to remain at Stamford Bridge.
