Heung-Min Son quashes Tottenham exit rumours amid Fenerbahce links

Tottenham captain Heung-Min Son says talks of him leaving the club are making him feel uncomfortable.

The 31-year-old has taken on the responsibility of leading the club forward following the departures of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris in the last 12 months but he has recently been linked with Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Son has one year left on his contract but is reportedly in talks to extend his stay in North London beyond 2025.

It has been a period of transition for Spurs following the loss of their talisman but Ange Postecoglou has steadied the seemingly sinking ship.

They will return to Europe next season and Son says there is still a lot for him to achieve in the Premier League.

He said: “I have not had any exchanges with the club.

“I don’t have anything to say at this point. I feel a little uncomfortable with the situation.

“I am going to keep doing my best for Tottenham. I still have terms left on my contract.

“Money is not important to me. The most important thing is to play in a league that I enjoy playing in.

“I have so much more I want to accomplish in the Premier League.”

Son will be hoping chairman Daniel Levy continues to bring in additions over the summer.

The South Korean has bagged 162 goals for the club in nine seasons as a Lilywhite.

James Maddison was the marquee name brought to the capital last year, but to catch the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal, they  will need to continue to reshape their squad.
