Wolves boss Gary O’Neil believes serious thought now needs to be given to the scrapping of VAR.
VAR hit the headlines again on Sunday with Nottingham Forest furious that Stuart Attwell had not referred on-field referee Anthony Taylor to the pitchside monitor for three possible penalties against Everton’s Ashley Young.

Wolves have had their grievances with VAR this season, most recently when its intervention led to a stoppage-time equaliser against West Ham being ruled out, and boss O’Neil has questioned its purpose.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s home game with his former club Bournemouth, O’Neil said: “The technology doesn’t seem to have cleared things up as we hoped it would. I doubt very much they are considering removing it but I do think at a stage we’re at it’s a definite consideration.
“I’ve never been in that camp, I’ve always thought VAR would be a big benefit to the game – maybe it hasn’t been as much as a benefit as I expected.”

Speaking at his own press conference, however, Everton boss Sean Dyche spoke up in favour of VAR.
He said: “The idea of VAR was to tidy up as many decisions as possible. Statically it’s shown that it is doing that. As long as they keep learning and speeding it up, I still think it’s a good thing for the outcomes of games.
“I appreciate that it can get in the way of things from a supporter’s point of view, but there has to be some form of getting these decisions right. They are doing the best they can with a better way of doing it with VAR I think.”
