Tottenham striker Richarlison will miss his side’s Premier League home match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday with a short-term knee injury, manager Ange Postecoglou has said.
Brazil international Richarlison has made three brief substitute appearances since missing two games with a knee problem and felt a “slight” problem when he was introduced from the bench again in Spurs’ 1-1 draw at West Ham on Tuesday.
“The only one from the other night is Richy,” Postecoglou told Tottenham’s official site. “He’s had a little bit of a niggle with his knee so we’ll give him this weekend off to get him totally over it… everyone else got through the game well; we’re ready to go.”
Postecoglou hopes the rest will ensure Richarlison is available for Tottenham’s trip to Newcastle on April 13, when they will remain without long-term absentees Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Fraser Forster.

Richarlison has 11 goals and three assists in 28 appearances in all competitions this season but has not scored in five games since netting twice against Everton on February 3, two of which have been starts.
The 26-year-old is the only Tottenham player apart from 15-goal top-scorer Son Heung-min to have found the net at least 10 times this season.

Fifth-placed Spurs are nine points above Manchester United in the final spot which is likely to secure Uefa Champions League football next season, depending on co-efficients at the end of the campaign.
Victory would move Postecoglou’s side fourth if Aston Villa fail to beat visitors Brentford on Saturday.

Richarlison scored the opener during first-half added time when Spurs won 2-0 at Forest on December 15 but a repeat result would be unlikely to leave Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the relegation zone.
Forest are three points above third-bottom Luton Town, who suffered a late 2-1 defeat at Tottenham six days ago and host Bournemouth on Saturday, with a seven-goal superiority.
Nuno Espirito Santo guided his team to a first win in seven games in all competitions with a 3-1 home victory over Fulham on Tuesday.
Forest’s fate could depend on the result of their appeal against a four-point deduction after being found to have breached Premier League financial rules.
