Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi says he is “chilled and relaxed” about his future after the Eagles knocked back a third bid from Newcastle for the England international.
Guehi is a wanted man on Tyneside having made 111 appearances for Palace.
He moved to South London from Chelsea in 2021 and has become an England regular in the last 12 months.
As a result, the 24-year-old’s market value has skyrocketed, with Palace wanting at least £70m for their star defender.
Newcastle’s latest effort was thought to be around the £60m mark, still short of the asking price.
And while negotiations rumble on, Guehi himself says he is not stressing about where he might be playing his football in a few weeks.
🗣 “If I had a magic wand to sort everything out in an instant I would, but I don’t.”

Speaking to the BBC, he said: “If I had a magic wand to sort everything out in an instant I would, but I don’t.
“You can’t control any exterior noise. I just focus on my football and giving my best.
“I want to play as long as possible. If I could play to 40, great.
“I have stopped trying to figure out where I end up [in my career] because you can get too wrapped up in those things.
“I’ve had a few goals that didn’t go quite right, saying at this age I should be here. That’s a bit too presumptuous. Everyone has their own journey.”
Palace chairman Steve Parish went so far as to label Guehi a ‘generational talent’ but the defender hit back the compliment.
He added: “It’s humbling for someone as big as the chairman to say something like that, it’s really nice.
“I’m not sure I’m a superstar or generational talent but I’m really grateful for those words.”
As it stands, Guehi will line-up for Palace this weekend when they face Brentford on Sunday.
But he will surely have one eye on Newcastle’s result as a potential transfer draws closer.
