Premier League side Aston Villa will play Lille in the Uefa Europa Conference League quarter-finals.

The Villans will meet Olympiacos or Fenerbahce if they progress to the semi-finals, which were drawn directly after the quarter-final procedure.

Unai Emery’s side thrashed four-time European champions Ajax 4-0 at home on Thursday to win their round of 16 tie by the same scoreline.

Lille beat Sturm Graz 4-1 on aggregate and are fourth in Ligue 1, 14 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

The quarter-final first legs will take place on April 11, with the return games held a week later.

The semi-final ties will be held across May 2 and 9, with the final at Athens’ AEK Arena on May 29.

Uefa are likely to confirm the exact schedule later on Friday.

Villa are fourth in the top flight and on course to qualify for the Champions League, sitting eight points clear of sixth-placed Manchester United, with fifth position likely to secure a place in the elite European club competition depending on coefficient rankings at the end of the season.

They were beaten 4-0 at home by fifth-placed Tottenham, who are two points behind them, in their last Premier League match and travel to Europa League quarter-finalists West Ham in the league on Sunday.

Emery has led the 1982 European Cup winners to their first continental campaign since 2010/11 and their first appearance in the Europa League quarter-finals since 1998.
