Barca will forfeit their crown to arch-rivals Real Madrid and crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals but fans of the Catalan club still believe Xavi is the right man for the job.
It is an opinion shared by Ancelotti, who says people should be allowed to change their minds on big decisions like this.
He said: “I think Xavi has done a good job at Barcelona. He knows the club very well and it seems to me to be the correct decision to stay.
“We have to respect that people can change their opinion.
“It’s not in writing. How many times have I changed opinion in my career? It’s allowed.”

He added: “We have to respect difference of opinion; we all do that many times. It’s allowed.
