Manchester United winger Antony has been cleared without any charges following an investigation into the Brazilian.
The 24-year-old had been accused of sexual assault by ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin and was questioned by police after they collected 19 statements throughout the case.
Allegations were publicly made last year and the investigation took place in Brazil, leading to Antony taking a short break to his Manchester United duties.
But the Sao Paulo police have now concluded their search into the matter with no further action being taken.
Greater Manchester Police are also looking into the matter but are yet to reach a conclusion, although Antony himself has always denied the allegations.
Cavallin’s lawyer, Daniel Bialski, spoke after the announcement, saying: “It should be noted that there is overwhelming evidence that leaves no doubt that Gabriela was the victim, here in Brazil and in England, of physical and psychological aggression.

“Therefore, we await the statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, trusting and hoping that a formal criminal complaint will be filed against former player Anthony, who should be prosecuted and, ultimately, convicted for his multiple acts of violence against women.”
Antony’s defence team responded by saying that they always believed the investigations would lead to Antony’s innocence being made public.
The former Ajax man had been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer but as things stand, will remain part of Erik ten Hag’s squad.
