Rudiger vows to ‘smash’ Mbappe if Real Madrid face Paris Saint-Germain

Antonio Rudiger has vowed to “smash” Kylian Mbappe if Real Madrid come up against Paris Saint-Germain in this season’s Champions League final.

Madrid take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena tonight in the first leg of their semi-final clash with the winner of the tie to face either PSG or Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on June 1.

Germany international Rudiger will have his hands full with Harry Kane against Bayern but he already has one eye on a potential clash with Mbappe.

He told Le Media Carre: “If we face him in the final, we’ll beat him. And if he passes me, I’ll smash him!”

Rudiger – regarded as one of the biggest characters in the Madrid dressing room – knows there is good chance Mbappe will be joining him at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.

Mbappe is out of contract at the end of June and it is expected he will finally get his wish of a move to Madrid.

Rudiger added: “The best players in history have always come to Real Madrid. He’s one of the best players in the world, so it would be a good match.”

The former Chelsea centre-half added with a smile: “Who says that he’s coming, it’s not official.”

Mbappe has had another impressive season with PSG, although he hasn’t always started in recent weeks as coach Luis Enrique prepares for life without his star man.

He came off the bench at half-time in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Le Havre, helping the Parisians hit back from 3-1 down.

And their record-extending 12 Ligue 1 title was confirmed on Sunday when Monaco lost 3-2 at Lyon.
