Fulham team news vs Spurs: Jimenez injury latest for Premier League match

-

Fulham manager Marco Silva says he has a fully available squad for the visit of in-form Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Striker Jimenez has missed six matches since suffering a hamstring injury in February and has not been called up by Mexico for their match against Panama on March 22.

But the forward could be on the bench when the Cottagers aim to recover from their 2-1 defeat at Wolves – Jimenez’s former club – last Saturday.

“Everybody is ready to help the team,” Silva told Fulham’s website. “It’s nice to see Raul back again and to have all of the solutions… we have to decide who are going to be the best 20 players to be involved.”

Fulham beat Spurs at home on penalties in the Carabao Cup in August following a 1-1 draw but lost 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the league in October.

Tottenham emphatically ended a wait for an away win which had endured since December 15 on Sunday, thrashing Aston Villa 4-0 to move two points behind their fourth-placed opponents with a game in hand.

Fulham vs Tottenham: Hosts ‘respect’ Spurs

“We’re not intimidated,” said Silva, whose team beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 in their last home game on March 2. “Matches are there to play, to enjoy, to fight for three points.

“We have respect for what Tottenham are doing. We have worked on certain stuff that is likely to be important and decisive on matchday.”

Ange Postecoglou has drawn admirers during his first season in charge at Tottenham, bringing in a bold style which has reaped positive results including three wins in their last four matches.

“They’re really well managed and have individual players who can decide the game at any moment,” observed Silva.

“In some moments, the way they play is difficult to control because they are brave and have quality. We have respect for them but nothing more than that.”

Fulham have a two-week pause after Spurs visit because of the international break, returning to action at Sheffield United in the Premier League on March 30.
