Manchester City and Newcastle recorded the largest wins in the Premier League on Saturday as Manchester United rescued a draw at Bournemouth and none of the sides in the bottom four won.
Reigning champions City returned to the top of the table by beating Luton 5-1 but Arsenal and Liverpool will have the chance to overtake them on Sunday.
Aston Villa, who visit the Gunners, are fourth as a consequence of Tottenham losing heavily to the Magpies.
Bottom side Sheffield United require a remarkable upturn in results to survive, while Burnley are also likely to need to win at least three of their final five matches.

Manchester City 5-1 Luton Town
City led third-bottom Luton within two minutes at Etihad Stadium when Erling Haaland’s shot deflected in off the unfortunate Daiki Hashioka.
The depleted Hatters performed commendably to keep the scoreline the same until Mateo Kovacic struck from the edge of the penalty area after 65 minutes.
Haaland added a penalty and Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol embellished the result late on.
Luton remain a point behind Nottingham Forest and two shy of Everton, who have two games in hand.

Newcastle 4-0 Tottenham
Prolific Newcastle top scorer Alexander Isak scored in either half to help hammer Spurs in the early kick-off.
Anthony Gordon made it 2-0 after 32 minutes when the in-form midfielder pounced on Pedro Porro’s poor clearance, and Fabian Schar headed in Gordon’s corner with three minutes remaining.
After a bright start to life under Ange Postecoglou, fifth-placed Tottenham’s chances of qualifying for the Uefa Champions League are in the balance.
Newcastle moved above Manchester United into sixth and are in pole position to qualify for the Europa League.

Brentford 2-0 Sheffield United
Brentford had a helping hand as they won for the first time in 10 games, Oliver Arblaster diverting in Mikkel Damsgaard’s 63rd-minute cross.
Substitute Frank Onyeka hit the Bees’ second from close range in stoppage time to move his side seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Sheffield United’s eight-match winless run has left them on the brink of an immediate return to the Championship.
Chris Wilder’s side play second-bottom Burnley next but are 10 points adrift of safety with six games to play.

Burnley 1-1 Brighton & Hove Albion
Burnley’s slim hopes of survival and Brighton’s ambitions of qualifying Europe both took a blow at Turf Moor.
Josh Brownhill punished a loose backpass by Carlos Baleba to put Vincent Kompany’s side ahead with 16 minutes remaining.
Albion equalised in farcical fashion five minutes when goalkeeper Arijanet Muric allowed Sander Berge’s pass to roll under his foot.
The costly mistake means the Clarets are six points from safety with a vastly inferior goal difference.
Bournemouth 2-2 Manchester United
Bruno Fernandes equalised in either half to salvage a share of the spoils for Man United, who have one win in seven.
Dominic Solanke strengthened his claims for a place at Uefa Euro 2024 with England by scoring the opener.
After Fernandes replied from close range, Justin Kluivert struck to restore Bournemouth’s lead by the break.
Adam Smith was contentiously adjudged to have handled for the penalty with which Fernandes levelled again.

Nottingham Forest 2-2 Wolves
Nottingham Forest missed the chance to move three points clear of danger after spurning a 2-1 lead at home to Wolves.
Wolves forward Cunha scored with a brilliant run and strike in the 40th minute, but former Morgan Gibbs-White headed the equaliser six minutes later.
Danilo put Forest ahead for the first time with a fierce shot 17 minutes after half-time, only for Cunha to bundle in five minutes later.
Wolves have gone five matches without victory in all competition and are seven points off seventh place.
