Liverpool welcome Serie A side Atalanta to Anfield on Thursday as their attention turns to the Europa League after a 2-2 draw away at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Still seen as the favourites for the competition, Jurgen Klopp’s side will be hoping to build themselves a comfortable lead before heading to Italy for the second-leg.

Atalanta meanwhile, are strong opponents and underdogs in the competition. They have only lost one of their last 10 away fixtures in European competition, hoping to continue their fine run of form at Anfield and take a valuable lead back home.

Match details

Liverpool are unbeaten at home in all competitions this season and are coming off the back of a 2-2 draw at Manchester United. Hoping to get back to winning ways, the Reds will need to be stronger in the final third and make the home advantage count.

Atalanta, meanwhile, will be hopeful of getting onto the scoresheet, keeping their opponent’s recent defensive performances in mind. The Italian side has scored in every one of their fixtures in the competition so far.

Expected Line-ups

As Liverpool’s fixtures come thick and fast, Klopp could rotate his squad with a start for Cody Gakpo, who has four goals from six appearances in the competition.
