Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain: Match Preview

Barcelona welcome Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night as Xavi’s side make their bid for a spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Xavi’s side secured a 3-2 victory last week in the French capital and head into the match as favourites to progress. Barcelona have not made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League since the 2018/19 campaign.

However, PSG are not a side to count out, especially as the Ligue 1 leaders have not been in action since the first leg of the tie. A well-rested side, Luis Enrique knows his team have work to do to secure their place in the semis.

The winner of this match will face either Atletico Madrid or Borussia Dortmund for a spot in the final.

Match details

Barcelona have won every game they have hosted so far in this year’s competition and have scored 12 times in four games.

In contrast, the visitors have won just one of their away fixtures so far, which was in the Round of 16 against another Spanish side, Real Sociedad.

Expected Line-ups

Barcelona remain without Gavi and Alejandro Balde who are out with long term injuries. Other than that, the home side have a fully fit squad heading into the fixture.

Christensen and Sergi Roberto are out with suspensions.

As for PSG, Presnel Kimpembe, Layvin Kurzawa, and Sergio Rico remain on the sidelines, while Nordi Mukiele will need to be assessed.

Achraf Hakimi is available for selection and could make a return after missing the first leg through suspension.
