Wolverhampton v Arsenal: Match Preview

-

Arsenal travel to Wolves on Saturday, hoping to get their title chase back on track after last weekend’s slip-up, which saw them defeated for the first time in 2024.

Mikel Arteta’s side, along with the other English sides involved, also crashed out of the Champions League this week, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich.

They are facing a Wolverhampton side, which has been one of the surprises this season, pulling off some huge wins when playing at Molineux.

Posing a serious threat to ending the Gunners’ title hopes for the season, Gary O’Neil’s side will be after a vital three points after not winning a Premier League game since March 9th.

Match details

After a week to forget, this is now a must-win game for the visitors, with a loss away at Wolves being what would end the Gunner’s title challenge for another season.

Arteta will be looking to Bukayo Saka to help secure the three points, with the winger involved in eight goals from his last seven Premier League away games, scoring seven and assisting one.

Wolves head into the tie off the back of a 2-2 draw away at Nottingham Forest and with the boost of Matheus Cunha returning after nine weeks out with injury like he has never been away.

The Brazillian netted twice in the draw and has six goals and three assists in his last nine Premier League games.

Wolves v Arsenal is the Saturday Night Football match, with kick-off at 19:30.

Expected Line-ups

O’Neil may have Cunha back in his starting eleven however, he is without Nelson Semedo, Craig Dawson and Pedro Neto.

The away side has no new injury concerns, with just Jurrien Timber as the only absentee.
